FAQ
How to get the power for MDVR? How to get the power if the engine if turned off?
1. The MDVR gets power from vehicle battery.
2. And our MDVR supports ignition (ACC) delay, so that MDVR can still work for a duration (time length configurable) after the engine is switched off.
3. The onboard UPS provides the power supply once the power from vehicle battery is powered off.
What type of alarm output does the MDVR support?
The standard alarm output is 12V @ 200mA, suitable for connecting external buzzers or relays. For high-power alarms, additional relay modules may be required.
How can I modify MDVR parameters?
You can configure MDVR settings through multiple methods:
Remote control
USB mouse
Patronus/CMS software (PC platform)
Mobile App

What is HDD and SSD MDVR storage capacity?
There are two different types of Mobile DVR
HDD MDVR: Up to 4TB (2.5" SATA HDD)
SD Card MDVR: Up to 512GB (Dual-slot available in some models)
Why does the system show ‘Hard disk/SD card not formatted’?
There are two possible reasons:
The storage is new and needs to be formatted in the MDVR menu.
The storage is damaged or corrupted — try replacing it with a new one.
Why can’t the MDVR detect my hard disk or SD card?
Common causes include:
Improper installation
Loose or faulty connection cables
Damaged storage device
In HDD MDVRs, a defective hard disk case may also cause issues
Try re-installing or replacing components for troubleshooting.
What are the SD card requirements?
Type: Industrial-grade MLC (TLC consumer cards are not recommended)
Speed: Class 10 or above
Temperature Range: -25°C to +85°C
Important: Do not use TF card + adapter combinations — unstable speed may cause data loss.
What is the field of view (FOV) of the camera?
For 1/3’’ CMOS chip-set
f=2.1mm → 140°
f=2.8mm → 120°
f=3.6mm → 90°
f=4.0mm → 75°
Note: FOV may vary slightly depending on sensor and chipset.
What peripheral devices are supported by the MDVR?
